Scientist using machineHypha Discovery has a great opportunity for a lab-based chemist with purification experience to join our team to work on collaborative programmes with our global pharmaceutical and agrochemical partners. As part of a team, the successful applicant will undertake a variety of interesting projects to deliver purified metabolites and small molecules to collaborators and for our own proprietary projects in the field of biotransformation and natural products drug discovery. Specifically, you will:

  • Analyse and purify a variety of small molecules including drug metabolites and bioactive natural products from complex mixtures.
  • Use your knowledge of purification and chromatographic techniques to develop new methods as appropriate.
  • Interpret analytical data, document and present project work
  • Be part of the team ensuring the smooth working of the laboratory and equipment

The position is based on site in Milton Park, Abingdon in Oxfordshire.

Our Chemistry team are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic chemistry graduate/post-graduate who is keen to make a difference in the lab. We’re seeking someone with experience in a chemistry lab, and who ideally has hands on experience of using a variety of larger scale purification and analytical techniques.

The successful applicant will be able to plan ahead, deal with technical issues that may arise and enjoy the challenge of working on multiple projects in parallel. Competency in the use of MS Office programs such as Excel is also required, as are excellent organisation, reporting and communication skills.
