Production of a hydroxylated metabolite of OSA821 by PolyCYPs
Metabolite production using PolyCYPs enzymes resulted in the identification of a hydroxylated metabolite of OSA821, a lead compound in the Open Source Antibiotics (OSA) diarylimidazole series.
OSA821 was first screened against Hypha’s PolyCYPs+ metabolite kit to identify the best enzyme for scale-up. Purification of the main metabolite from a subsequent scale-up reaction resulted in identification of the hydroxylated metabolite OSA997.
We were delighted to be able to support the OSA team in their quest to identify the metabolite in this project.
