The role

We are proud of our reputation in the industry and are looking for a purification chemist to join us who shares our ethos for delivering top quality results for our clients. As part of a team, the successful applicant will undertake a variety of interesting projects to deliver purified small molecules to collaborators and for our own proprietary projects in the field of biotransformation and natural products drug discovery. The role is predominantly lab-based.  Specifically, you will:

  • Analyse and purify a variety of small molecules including drug metabolites and bioactive natural products using a range of chromatographic techniques and equipment, developing new methods as appropriate.
  • Interpret data, document and present project work.
  • Mentor and train others in the lab.
  • Be part of the team ensuring the smooth and safe working of the laboratory and equipment.
  • The position is laboratory based at our premises in Milton Park, Abingdon, and is full-time on site.
Who are we looking for?
  • Hypha is looking for a proactive purification chemist with significant experience who is keen to make a difference in the lab. We are seeking someone who has hands on experience of using a variety of purification and analytical techniques at low-mg to g scales, such as preparative HPLC.
  • Other skills that would be advantageous, but non-essential; NMR data interpretation, experience with mass-directed preparative HPLC, and LC equipment maintenance.
  • The successful applicant will be able to plan ahead, deal with technical issues that may arise and enjoy the challenge of working on multiple projects in parallel. Competency in the use of MS Office programs such as Excel is also required, as are excellent organisation, reporting and communication skills.

Applicants should already have permission to live and work in the United Kingdom.

No recruitment agencies please.

How to apply
  • Send us your cv and a cover letter to via our advert on Indeed detailing your lab experience and explaining why you’re interested in this position.
